Monitoring
Monitoring and several forms of compliance testing are important components of the Phase I Removal Project. The purpose of these activities is to protect the health and safety of on-site workers and nearby communities, protect the environment (e.g., water, air, wildlife), and document that operations are conducted as designed, as approved by U.S. EPA, and in compliance with applicable rules and regulations.
Quality of Life Measures
The Community Health and Safety Plan (CHASP) describes the many features of the project designed to control noise, odors, traffic, and other project activities that could disrupt normal conditions near the work areas. Below is a summary of quality of life conditions and, as necessary, additional actions taken through the "CHIRP" investigation and response process. The weekly Progress Reports provide additional information.
